Bringing up baby in the 21st Century

At the beginning of the 20th century, a parent might have considered themselves to have done a good job if their children were clean, housed, fed and healthy. At the beginning of the 21st, this role had expanded to include the provision of advanced education, prolonged financial support, detailed psychological encouragement and personal fulfilment.
