Up in smoke? Asia and the Pacific – The threat from climate change to human development and the environment

The human drama of climate change will mainly be played out in Asia, where over 60% of the world’s population live.
Climate changes are threatening the region’s water cycle and productivity of food systems. Warming in Asia will cause extreme weather patterns including droughts, magnitude and frequency of cyclones and unpredictability of monsoons.
