EndNote @ CSU

EndNote™ is a program which enables you to organise bibliographic references, and produce reference lists in a range of standard and custom styles (eg. APA, MLA, Chicago ...)
The good news is that EndNote™ is now available for all CSU students and staff.

In 2006 the Division of Library Services conducted a review of bibliographic management software. The review recommended that the existing ProCite™ software which had been in use at Charles Sturt University since 1999, be replaced by EndNote™. EndNote™ has become the default standard for bibliographic software in both Australia and overseas universities; it is easier and more intuitive to use than ProCite™.

The Division of Information Technology (DIT) and Library Services have recently completed stakeholder testing of EndNote™ to ensure that it is compatible with current university platforms and software.

Library Services and DIT will continue to support ProCite™ in 2007. Training in EndNote™ will be available through Library Services

Windows and Mac versions of EndNote™ version X.02 can be accessed from staff offices and the student computer labs. Staff and postgraduate students who need to install EndNote™ on university computers should download the software. Check ‘DIT Core Software Application for Staff’ for access.

Copies of the EndNote™ installation CD are available for loan from Library Services to staff and students who wish to install EndNote™ at home on their own computers.

The Division of Library Services website now includes a EndNote site on the Research Support page. It contains links to resources for the installation and use of EndNote™, including step-by-step instructions for transferring records from an existing ProCite™ database.

Academic staff and postgraduate students requiring training in the use of EndNote™ should use the Book a librarian service.
